Hi all. I have been reading back postings, and it seems that posting photos can be a problem, so I am just making my first attempt to include a photo of my newly acquired Gentry, http://imgur.com/a/R6J1v, by using a free website hosting service called Imgur, where you can upload photos free of charge, for ever if you wish, then copy them into forum postings.
I hope this works, if it does I am sure another member will have already explained it, but here goes anyway. Perhaps someone will let me know if this has worked or not? regards to all Barry

Bobbie. Sorry to disappoint you but it hasn't. If after you have uploaded your missive with the relevant  picture information, you can check it is correct by clicking on preview at the bottom of the screen, it will display what everybody will see. Then if it is ok just click submit.
Regards Terry

Hi Terry, you have probably tried my first attempt, when I checked it I found I had clicked on "copy" to the side of my pic. I have now corrected that by putting the mouse on my pic and clicking on the pic address that is displayed, and I think you will find it works OK now. Barry

Bobbie.
Your correct. I tried the first posting. The second one only displays when you click on the address.
If you use Flickr it will display automatically like this. Which is also free.

Hi Terry. Well, I've signed up to Flickr, but I can't make it work. Have you already posted the way to do it previously please. It needs to be in exact detail, I've checked the forum for help but it seems other people are confused too do some recent changes in Flickr! Barry

If you want a quick and easy way to get your pictures up, try Post Image
You don't have to create an account, just go to the page and click 'choose images' (or the 'Upload' icon at the top left of the page).
(select 800x600 or 640x480 in the re-size drop down to make the image a manageable size for the Forum pages)

When the image(s) have uploaded, you will automatically get a series of links (see example below) to share the picture(s).

Go to the 'Hotlink for forums' and click the little blue copy icon at the end of the link and it will copy it to your clipboard.
Then just paste the link into your message at the appropriate place.

If instead you choose the 'Thumbnail for forums' link you will get a thumbnail size image in your forum post which, if clicked, will then display the full size one.
(See example below and click on the thumbnail image)

This can be useful if you want to show a number of images in one posting without swamping it with loads of full sized images, or if you want to show a large, detailed image which is too big for the Forum page.

Barry
In all honesty, I would use the method as described by Bob (JUF 377E) This is by far the easier method.
I have just tried it replacing some of the defunct Photobucket images from the Re-birth of JRA 69H and it works fine with a minimum of fuss.
Regards Terry
